Written Chemical Surveillance Plan for analytical needs of SNEPCO to meet operational, maintenance and HSE requirements.
Set up Pro Steward database software for bulk, domestic and laboratory chemicals management in SNEPCO
Set up Sample Manager database software for laboratory control and analysis in SNEPCO
Developed laboratory plans for a new on-shore facility in Onne storage and shipping yard.
Was a key member of the team reviewing oil and gas industry legislation and protocols (EGASPIN) with Nigerian legislators (DPR)
HSE and QA Audits of SNEPCO laboratories and other facilities. Additional audits were also performed on third party contractors, particularly for ensuring satisfactory standards prior to financial bidding for new contracts.
Extensive proofreading of internal documents and evaluation of third party documents for satisfactory compliance with SNEPCO policies and protocols.
Evaluation of submissions for technical capability of contractors for contract tenders.
Trained laboratory staff in comprehensive laboratory QA and data management.
Took and reported PEC corrosion monitoring data.
Promoted to Laboratory Manager at Bacton Gas Terminal, UK SUKEP 1998
Managed the Bacton laboratory and significantly raised its capability and profile, in terms of its technical ability, QA/QC and contribution to site HSE.
Designed and supervised the building of a database, written in MS Access for analysis data QA/QC.
Developed protocols for the reporting of data to the legislators (Environmental Agency) that were subsequently used as the benchmark for the two adjacent plants. Submitted the monthly reports and the annual pollution inventory.
Managed and controlled the biotreater unit at Bacton.
Have held extended tutorial sessions, particularly with plant operators and laboratory staff to ensure the biotreater properly functioned. Also given presentations about biotreater design, operation and findings from the Bacton plant with site staff and also at an international forum.
Developed laboratory plans for a new purpose built facility to accommodate the massive increase in scope largely brought about by tightening legislation and the operation of the new biotreater plant.
Developed HSE plans for the safe recovery and disposal of hazardous waste and the protocols for pre-disposal testing and reporting.
Trained and developed existing and new staff in comprehensive laboratory QA and data management and in new analytical techniques as required.
Promoted to Laboratory Technician I in analytical and environmental section of Stanlow Laboratory, UK SCUK 1991
Analysed a wide range of ad-hoc samples to help in solving plant problems, customer complaints etc using analytical experience to modify or produce novel methods to suit the sample. This also included extensive on site sampling and in-situ analysis.
Tested site effluents and wastes to schedules, but also used analytical experience to investigate problems and anomalies etc.
