Job Title:Mechanical Engineer
DurationFrom : 2005 To: 2008

Summary
I have work experience as a mechanical engineer, Industrial Manufacturing engineer and university lecturer. I have done over 100 mechanical engineering designs over a period of 14 years. I have achieved a lot in my work place. In 2003 I was named lecturer of the year with International University of Bamenda

Work Experience
Profile

I am a mechanical engineer with over 100 professional designs in 7 professional institutions and industries in 13 years. The designs include:
• the design of a water and oil pump;
• design of electric tea boilers;
• Tool making for mechanical maintenance toolkits,
• the design of a pendulum clock and watch;
• design of factory cranes and lifts;
• design and manufacture of factory conveyor belts;
• Creation of design and maintenance manual for the calculation of stresses, strains and forces in pipeline networks.
• Application of Archimedes’s principle, such as in Tonnage in shipping lines;
• Outer space calculations such as the distance to the Langrangian point L1 and the nightside point L2 for a spacecraft;
• design of heaters;
• application of momentum collisions in everyday life such as in reducing the impulse in collision of cars;
• design of pressure and air pumps;
• design of aircraft runways;
• Design of graders and robots,
• design of a portable equipment for the measurement of distances by use of electromagnetic waves when a barrier is encountered in their path;
• Design of a portable device for use by Police officers to determine the speed of cars on a high way (it also functions on electromagnetic waves).
• Design of electric meters, both coin-operated ones and those that acquire a constant rotation initiation due to the availability of electrical energy; among other designs.
I have also written a paper on “measurement of effects” which calibrates both the mechanical and electrical energy associated with any known force.

All these papers have been reviewed here by the ministry of scientific research and also they are at the ‘Science Headquarters in Washington D.C for review.

Upon realization of the sometimes short life span of oil and water pipes, I decided to investigate on how this life span may be improved. I thought of inserting a flat metal plate all through the pipe; I realized that although this greatly increased the rigidity of the pipe, the friction head, was greatly increased, leading to less efficient functioning. I am still working on the matter at the moment to see if there are other ways of solving the problem.

In September 2005 I earned a conditional offer to undertake studies in the school of Engineering to pursue a one year full-time advanced course in “Computer modeling in Engineering, leading to the degree of M.Res. of the university of Wales, but unfortunately, I did not have the financial resources to pursue the course.

RESEARCH

• ”Alternative to the Tensile Test”. The research was part of the requirements for obtaining a bachelor of engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering realized in July 1991. The project estimated the stress on the walls of pipes in order to measure their life span and alternative mode of failure when in use.

• Research assistant under the supervision of Dr Sproston for a year at the University of Liverpool. The research topic was the “Measurement Of Flow Rates In Pipes By The Use Of Tracers”.

• I have carried out research in various aspects of mechanical engineering, some of which I have sent to the science headquarters in Washington D.C for review and some are with visiting researchers of the Euro Graduation Access at the Polytechnic. I have also given some to the director of the Polytechnic and we planned to review them together.

PRIZES AND OTHER DISTINCTIONS EARNED

• For three years I was head of department of Mechanical Engineering at The National Polytechnic Bambui charged with the duty of ensuring the entire functioning of the department I was personally responsible for carrying out procurement for the department

• I won a cash prize of 50000frs cfa after my O-levels after earning 24 points on 30, and then when I was in high school I won a competitive scholarship to study in Britain after my A-levels in August 1988 after which I qualified as a mechanical engineer.

SUPPLEMENTARY COURSE ATTENDED

I attended a supplementary course in French at the Pilot Centre Yaounde which I passed. It has helped me a lot and I will be very grateful to present my results slip if I am asked to do so. I attended the level pre-intermediate A .

CHARITY WORK

I have done a lot of charity work in hospitals and clinics. This includes praying for patients on regular occasions and taking gifts along for them..

RELIGION

I am a devout catholic Christian and attend mass at least 5 times a week although I makes sure that I get personal prayers in the church everyday.
