Our Client, an international Design & Project Services Company, with a recognised global reputation providing professional services to the energy, resource & complex process industries, have requirements in their Hydrocarbons division for Snr Piping Materials Engineers to work on Refinery & Gas Pipeline Projects based in Perth Western Australia.

QUALIFICATIONS BSc degree (or equivalent)in Mechanical Engineering from a recognised university, plus 8 years post grad experience. Able to work semi-autonomously with minimal technical guidance. Significant experience within the oil & gas industry. Extensive experience & knowledge in material for piping commodities. Experience in computerised material control for piping, piping layouts & CAD of piping systems. Good working knowledge of technical bid evaluation, & required vendor/contractor compliance issues. Computer proficiency to include Microsoft Office applications. Fluency in spoken & written English.
Preference will be given to candidates with experience at a senior level within the oil & gas industry. An ability to lead & manage small groups of engineers & designers within discipline teams, in the execution of project tasks. Sound technical knowledge of discipline & local / international codes & standards Significant previous experience with a major engineering design services provider Some ‘hands-on’ experience in a construction or operating plant environment an advantage. Able to deal professionally with third parties such as vendors & contractors with due regard to commercial & contractual responsibilities.
ROLE Observe & comply with all relevant HS&E Perform work in accordance with applicable project requirements, codes & standards. Work within the Quality Management System. Assist Lead Engineer with preparation of cost, time & resource requirement estimates for nominated projects, scope changes or proposals. Provide progress & forecasting data to the lead engineer as requested. Provide oversight & accountability for overall design, layout, fabrication & installation of piping. Prepare piping material line class specifications & material selection.& requisitions for piping commodities & specialty items. Review & final input of technical & piping engineering drawings & specs for project execution. Developing required piping engineering/ construction policies for project execution. Oversight, review & approval of related contractor/vendor dossiers & drawings.
