Our client, a division of an international multi-services organisation, acts as an end-to-end business partner providing construction & engineering services operations to industries as diverse as minerals and metals, defence, commercial property, oil and gas, water and power.

Services of this major industry provider range from design and construction, facility management, shutdown and industrial maintenance, engineering, fabrication, program and project management.

This diversified industry leader is offering a challenging and rewarding career opportunity for a Principal Mechanical Engineer to join their growing team.

Reporting to the Engineering Services Manager key functions of this role include:
> Act as the principal technical reference authority and provide technical leadership for all engineering activities within that discipline.
> Identify and recommend engineering staff for project requirements
> Provide leadership and career development to engineering staff
> Act as the company's lead technical interface to client organisations
> Supervise and take technical control of groups of professional engineers engaged in complex engineering applications.

This key role will also include the following responsibilities;
• Identify and recruit engineering staff
• Perform engineering work involving considerable independence
• Review and check engineering work within the project / office
• Provide day-to-day management of the project / office engineering group
• Ensure project design and documentation is comprehensive and accurate

To be successful in applying for this career opportunity you will be a degree qualified Mechanical Engineer (or similar qualifications recognised by the Australian Institute of Engineers).

You will be an experienced design engineer within power generation with around 10 years experience in the industry inclusive of 'Design for Construct'. You will have superior communication skills and be able to mentor, manage and develop engineering staff.
