EXCELLENT OPPORTUNITY for an experienced Tool Design Engineer to work for a leading manufacturer in Northern IL. The successful candidate will be responsible for engineering new tooling designs and updating old designs for machines and ironworkers. The ideal candidate will have a BSME or BSMET and at least 5 years experience in the design of customer tooling for fabrication machinery. Must have a good understanding of manufacturing processes. Additional skills required include solid modeling and detailing experience in USG IDEAS or ProE (other modeling experience will be considered). Will be responsible for design of punches dies and fixtures. Must have excellent communication skills to work with customers and other departments. Must be a self-motivated team player with ability to seek and accept input from others. Other skills required include proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Excel Word Power Point) A strong background in Engineering Statistics and Dynamics ability to determine tolerance and stack-ups related to function and cost manage drawing library calculate fastener loads design weldments and perform other duties as assigned.
